David Delp’s Dinner Theater
Birthday Benefit
I’m turning 50. It finally feels like the right thing to do. What’ll make it more right is if you come meet the biggest loves in my life (including you!) and help me honor and wallow in what we have together. That’s right. Big love.
The evening will comprise a nice sit-down dinner followed by theatrical performances. It’s mostly just a show-up-and-celebrate kind of event, but I do want you to do 4 simple things. See below.
1. RSVP
2. Come
Come and be treated. My mom died and left me some money. She would have wanted this. Thanks, Mom!!!
When.
6:00 Doors and drinks.
7:00 Dinner
8:30 -10 (or so) Songs + cupcakes.
11:30 Evacuation (building not bodies)
Attire. Outrageous or casual or formal, drag or leather, whatever makes you feel festive.
Food and drink. There will be vegetarian, vegan, gluten free options, plus some meat, beer, wine, and maybe a drinky-poo choice.
Where. The San Francisco Institute of Possibility. 3359 Cesar Chaves, near Mission Street. Please take BART if you can. The 24th Street stop is just 3 blocks from here. Street parking on Folsom is pretty good. Do not park in the lot next door.
3. Bring
Bring your bodies and souls and one thing else:
Please bring a few cupcakes. There will be an exchange and I’m definitely going to take more than one, so bring a few. If gluten is an issue, bring your own and hang onto it.
4. Donate
I don’t want any presents. I love you, and I just want us to have a great time.
I would like you to consider donating to College Connect, an organization where I volunteer. It’s a family based counseling program that identifies high school juniors who would be the first in their family to attend college, surrounds them with caring adult experts in college admissions as well as a cohort of peers who are just as committed to attending college, and supports them and their families all the way through college graduation.
They are good at this! You’ll meet a few folks from this great organization at my party. I’m trying to raise $5,000 for their inspiring mission so please take your part. They set up a great page just for this event. Check it out.
Thanks! And see you soon!
David
